Happy August!
In 27 days, we welcome back the PACK! As Aug. 28th quickly approaches, I’d like to share some reminders and important dates with you.
Kindergarten Camp - Many of our newest members of the Wolf Pack will join us from 9-11am on Aug. 16th, 17th and 18thto meet our teachers, make new friends and learn all about Kindergarten! Additional details will be sent to our kindergarten families later this week.
Classroom placements - In a couple of weeks, you’ll be able to visit the Home Access Center (http://scasd.schoolwires.com/Domain/94) to learn your child’s classroom teacher. Since grouping does not take place until after Camp, Kindergarten placements will be available a week or so later. Stay tuned… I’ll share exact dates and times once I receive them. As always, class lists will be posted in the rotunda during our Open House on Thurs. Aug. 24th.
Student school supplies - With the help of GW families, our PTO has purchased all student school supplies once again! While the basics have been taken care of, classroom teachers will contact families throughout the school year if additional supplies are needed.
Save the date! Please mark your calendars for these upcoming GW events:
*K-5 Open House - All students and their families are invited to visit classrooms and meet teachers on Thurs. Aug. 24thfrom 10-11am!
*First day of school - Mon. Aug. 28th for 1st-5th graders & Tues. Aug. 29th for Kindergarteners
*Kindergarten Orientation - On Mon. August 28th, Kindergarteners and their parents are invited to visit classrooms for a brief orientation during the following times:
9:30-10:30am: Last names A-L
1-2:00pm: Last names M-Z
*Back-to-School Nights - Parents and students are invited to join us! We’ll begin in the all-purpose room with greetings from Dr. Dewitt and a PTO representative followed by classroom visits. Times and additional details coming soon…
Tues. Sept. 5th – 3rd, 4th, 5th grade
Thurs. Sept. 7th – Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd grade
