Updates From Dr. Dewitt

Wow! Its June already?!? Summer is upon us and below are a few final reminders of the school year:

- Field Day will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, June 13th, rain or shine. Lunches will be held early and parent volunteers should plan to report in the APR at 11:20.

- Our final day of school is this Wednesday, June 14th. Students will eat lunches early and will be dismissed at 12:15pm.

- The end of another year brings excitement as well as a few sad goodbyes... while the majority of faculty and staff will return for the '17-'18 school year, Mrs. Drapcho, Mrs. Bortner, Mrs. LaMotta, Mrs. Brunskill, and Mr. Piccolo will be leaving GW this week. Our 5th grade students will also move on to middle school next year. The Wolf Pack will miss each of them terribly and wishes them well as they continue their journeys.

- We look forward to seeing you at GW Summer Library on Thursdays (10am-1pm) from June 22nd-July 29th. Also, please be sure to #takeoneleaveone as you visit our Little Free Library located at the intersection of the bus drive and Gray's Woods Blvd.

- Teachers are working hard to complete final progress reports. They will be available for families to view via HAC at 8am this Friday, June 16th. For directions, visit: http://www.scasd.org/Page/27251. If you need assistance accessing HAC, please contact the help desk at: 814.231.7744 or online@scasd.org. I appreciate the time and effort our teachers put into these informative reports about your child's progress and thank you for taking time to review them carefully and discuss them with your child.

- Attached is a flyer advertising "Books and Backpacks for Belize", an amazing donation initiative led by two GW alumni.

- Also attached are two documents from our fabulous PTO: a document outlining PTO '16-'17 expenses and fundraisers, and information regarding the Wolf Pack Challenge. We thank the PTO board and all who volunteered to assist with events this year!

Finally, thank you for another wonderful school year. GW is a very special place and it is an honor to work with you and your children each day. I can't thank you enough for your involvement and support.

Wishing you a safe and relaxing summer with friends and family!
