Happy Friday!
It has been a wonderful couple of weeks - thank you for sharing your amazing children with us!
Walk to the Woods Update
Chief Petrick from Patton Township Police Department and I have been in close contact regarding safety concerns at the Gray's Woods Blvd. crosswalk. Here are some changes that you can expect to see in the near future:
-New larger Lime Green School Pedestrian signs at the crosswalk. The larger new color signs will be very noticeable. -Placement of a Stop Bar pavement marking in front of the crosswalk. This will notify motorists of the proper location to stop their vehicle as pedestrians cross. -Several new In-Street School Crossing signs..in and around the median area near the crosswalk. This will notify motorists of the responsibility to STOP for pedestrians.
-Patton Township Police Department will continue to patrol the AM/PM school zones within the Township. -Patton Township Police Department will conduct Pedestrian Safety presentations to all GW students as requested by the school. We will notify families after these presentations have taken place with follow-up discussion suggestions to have with your children. A reminder to all parents and students - please do not to enter the crosswalk until all vehicles have stopped. This will ensure that you are seen by motorists before you cross. Thanks to all who have shared concerns - we are taking them seriously and working towards a safe solution for all.
Enjoy a wonderful weekend!
